“Are authorities in your life protecting you—or controlling you?”

When you hear the word authority, what comes to mind? Many of us see them as people who rob us of our freedom—parents who are too strict, bosses who stress us out, teachers who don’t understand, or government leaders who seem unfair. But Romans 13 says: “Every person is to be in subjection to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”

So if authorities are established by God, bakit parang kontrabida sila sa buhay natin? Could it be that God placed them not to limit us, but to protect us?
